Hair Stories

The Jüdische Kulturbund Project’s Kultur Stories 2024 focused on the theme of hair. Hair can tell many stories, whether it resembles one’s personality or culture. Hair plays a unique role in shaping our identities. Many types, textures, styles, lengths, colors, or possibilities open an outlet for expression through one’s hair. Kultur Stories began to explore this topic through the eyes of students around the globe. We lead two groups. Girls in January and boys in February. Later on, we heard from our leaders and interns, all to understand the implications of gender on one’s experience with hair. The program facilitators were inspired by the participants’s stories that we wanted to add to the collection, called the Elders’ Perspective. Here’s my Hair Story.
